A two-factor authentication plugin for Shop-Script that protects staff and customer accounts with TOTP codes, QR setup, recovery codes and a security event log.
Architecture and development
A complete TOTP-based 2FA plugin was developed. Users can enable protection by scanning a QR code and then confirm sign-in with a one-time code generated by an authenticator app. Separate workflows were implemented for the Shop-Script backend and customer accounts, together with one-time recovery codes, secure recovery-code regeneration, a security event log, responsive interfaces and support for popular TOTP applications.
Business outcome
The result is a production-ready security plugin for Shop-Script that provides full two-factor protection for backend and customer accounts. It reduces the risk of unauthorized access when passwords are compromised, avoids dependence on external QR services and gives users a clear recovery mechanism.
